A man is in custody on suspicion of murder after Denver police said he dragged another man with his vehicle in southeast Denver.
Police about 2:35 a.m. Monday responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian crash in the 1800 block of South Quebec Way in the Indian Creek neighborhood, a Denver Police Department spokesperson who did not provide their name said in an email.
Arriving officers found the driver, identified as Jeremy Lewis, 28, and the victim, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation determined the two men knew each other and had an argument before the incident, the spokesperson said.
The victim tried to enter the vehicle as Lewis was driving away, but Lewis dragged the victim with the vehicle before falling into the roadway, the spokesperson said.
Police are holding Lewis for investigation of second-degree murder.
