Fort Collins police shot and injured a man Friday afternoon, a department spokesman said in a news release.
Officers went to an apartment in the 1200 block of East Stuart Street shortly after noon Friday to investigate a reported disturbance, the release said. They then learned that the suspect had a warrant out for his arrest.
That suspect tried to run from officers and jumped from the apartment balcony to escape, injuring himself, the release said. Police caught him outside and took him to a hospital for treatment.
While the first suspect was trying to run, the release said officers also encountered another man armed with a gun and shot him. Police also took him to the hospital and he is expected to survive.
No officers were injured in the incident, the release said. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the shooting.
Fort Collins police representatives did not respond to multiple messages seeking comment.
