More than 1,000 flights delayed, canceled at Denver International Airport amid winter storm

More than 1,000 flights were delayed or canceled at Denver International Airport Saturday as a snowstorm swept across Colorado.

As of 6:30 p.m. Saturday, 853 flights had been delayed, and another 169 were canceled for weather-related reasons, according to data from the flight tracking site FlightAware.

Affected airlines included SkyWest, United, Southwest, Frontier, Mesa, Delta, Key Lime Air, CommuteAir, American Airlines, Volaris, British Airways and Air Canada, JetBlue, Cayman Airways, Lufthansa, Southern Airways Express and AeroMéxico.

Southwest and United had the most delays on Saturday, with 334 United flights and 287 Southwest flights failing to leave the gate on time.

Regional airline SkyWest, the airline that operates United Express, had the most cancelations with 87 flights. United was second with 45 flights canceled and CommuteAir was third with 14 flights.
