A first-degree murder charge has been filed against a man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Federal Heights.
Adrian Carracedo-Vega, 35, is accused of stabbing Sachely Diaz on Dec. 30 outside the Tuscan Heights Apartments, 1700 W. 85th Ave., in Federal Heights. The Adams County District Attorney’s Office charged him on Friday with first-degree murder, according to news release.
Carracedo-Vega fled the scene and remains at-large. Court proceedings will not begin until he is apprehended, the news release said.
Carracedo-Vega may be heading to Texas or attempting to cross the border into Mexico, according to a Federal Heights Police Department report at the time of the stabbing.
Diaz died at a hospital after the stabbing. Police believe she and Carracedo-Vega knew each other.
