A 70-year-old man died almost a week after a hit-and-run crash in Aurora and police are looking for the driver who fled the crash.
The crash happened about 12:45 p.m. Jan. 28 near the intersection of South Chambers Road and East Tennessee Avenue, the Aurora Police Department said in a Tuesday news release.
Police are looking for the driver of a silver Toyota Corolla, believed to be in the model range of 2014 to 2016.
The day of the crash, the driver of a Toyota Camry and a passenger in the vehicle were both taken to a hospital, police said. The passenger died on Friday.
Investigators determined the Camry was southbound on Chambers when the driver of the Corolla attempted to turn north onto Chambers, police said. The Corolla driver did not yield, causing the collision, and the driver fled the scene.
The Corolla likely has significant damage to the driver’s side and the vehicle’s airbags deployed. Investigators do not have a plate number for the Corolla.
Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle, or the driver, is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 (STOP).
The crash is the fourth traffic-related fatality in Aurora this year, police said.
