Just before 10 p.m. police received reports of shots fired in the area of South Elati Street and West Radcliff Avenue, according to a news release.
Responding officers spotted a man with a rifle running west on Radcliff and he was taken into custody, police said. A woman was pronounced dead at a nearby residence of an “apparent gunshot wound.”
Just after midnight, police announced on Twitter that a death investigation was underway in the 4300 block of South Elati Street, which is just off of West Quincy Avenue. Radcliff is one block south of Quincy.
