Englewood police are searching for a 41-year-old man suspected of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Suany Melgar Almendarez on Sept. 10.
Jose Bustamante, is wanted on suspicion of first-degree murder and tampering with a deceased human body, according to the Englewood Police Department.
Officers responded to the area of Vallejo Street and West Adriatic Place on Sept. 11 for a welfare check. They found Almendarez deceased in an alleyway from a single gunshot wound.
Investigators believe she was placed in the alley overnight after her death, according to a news release from the department.
Englewood police located a blue Chevrolet Silverado connected with the crime and identified Bustamante as a suspect.
Bustamante should be considered armed and dangerous, and if seen should not be approached. Anyone with information about his whereabouts may contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
