The body of a 43-year-old cyclist was found down an embankment two days after he was killed in a hit-and-run crash along U.S. 6 in Eagle County, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
State troopers responded to reports of a body found down an embankment off the side of U.S. 6 near Edwards at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators determined the man was a cyclist who was struck and killed by a driver sometime between 12:30 and 2 a.m. Sunday. The driver left the scene, and investigators believe the bicycle was removed from the area, according to a Colorado State Patrol news release.
CSP Master Trooper Gary Cutler said the man was from Edwards, but he has not been named publicly.
The vehicle involved in the crash is believed to be a white 2010-2012 Subaru Legacy or Outback, likely with damage to the front passenger side.
