A man died Tuesday night after Eagle County deputies shot him during an alleged domestic situation.
Deputies responded to a domestic call for service in in the 200 block of Beard Creek Road, Edwards, involving an armed man and a woman about 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release. While at the scene, the news release states the deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation from the front porch, but the man reportedly came outside armed with a gun.
Deputies fired shots, and the man died. No one else was injured.
On Thursday the sheriff’s office said investigators are still working to determine the relationship between the man, who was shot, and the woman.
The deputies, who have not been identified, have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation.
