For the first time in history, E3 organizers are opening up the show to the general public with the creation of spin-off consumer event, E3 Live.
Taking place at the L.A. Live entertainment complex — just across from the main event at the L.A. Convention Center — E3 Live will feature game demos, live entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and meet-and-greets with “industry personalities.”
The event will run alongside E3 from June 14 to June 16, and will be free for all attendees. Tickets are non-transferrable and are being handed out through Eventbrite on a first come, first serve basis.
Those who do manage to snag a ticket will also be given the chance to attend the Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions video game concert.
“We are excited to introduce E3 Live, an exciting, high-energy video game event that brings some of the best in video games directly to fans,” said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of E3 organizer and owner, the ESA.
“E3 Live will give gamers the chance to test-drive exciting new games, interact with some of their favorite developers, and be among the first in the world to enjoy groundbreaking game experiences.”
Although there’s been no official word on what games will be playable at E3 Live, a press release listing current partners suggests Ubisoft, Oculus, and Warner Bros. will be in attendance.
