Northbound Colorado 93 is closed from 66th Avenue near Arvada to Colorado 170, one mile south of Eldorado Springs because of strong winds, powerful enough to topple semitrucks in the area.
The road earlier Friday had been closed in both directions all the way from Golden to the Boulder County line at Colorado 128 due to high winds.
At least one semitruck also was blown over Friday on Indiana Street near West 96th Avenue, according to the Colorado State Patrol. There are reports of other semitrucks blown over along Colorado 93 on the west side of Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge.
Winds along Colorado 93 were measured at 55 mph Friday afternoon, with gusts up to 72 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Windy weather that drove dust and affect visibility on the plains and wintry weather in the mountains also closed roads around the state on Friday.
