Hot temperatures and low chances of rain can be expected in Denver Thursday.
In addition to the heat, poor air quality is expected for Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties.
The poor air quality anticipated by the weather services stems from high ozone levels. The weather service has issued an air quality alert as a result.
A hazardous weather outlook was also issued for northeast and north central Colorado due to the possibility of rain-induced flash flooding in some areas.
Thursday will bring a high of 96 degrees with mostly sunny skies and a 20% chance of precipitation after noon.
Temperatures are expected to drop to an overnight low of 67 with a slight chance of storms and remain partly cloudy.
Friday’s forecast calls for conditions not much different than those expected for Thursday. A high of 97, mostly sunny and a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon are in Friday’s forecast.
The weekend will start hot, as Saturday is projected to bring a high of 90, but will cool off to a mere 81 degrees Sunday.
Additional relief from the heat will come in the form of storms throughout the weekend, as showers and thunderstorms are likely both Saturday and Sunday.
