High winds will persist throughout the day Tuesday on the last day of 50-degree weather for the week.
Denver will see winds of 21 to 26 mph, with gusts between 40 and 45 mph. The high temperature is 51 degrees, slightly cooler than Monday.
Winds along the foothills and eastern mountain slopes could gust up to 60 mph or higher Tuesday afternoon.
Denver’s winds could decrease in the late afternoon but most likely will come down by early evening. The wind in the foothills could last longer, though.
Tuesday night will drop significantly in temperature to a 20-degree low, and winds could still be gusting up to 28 mph.
Wednesday will be cooler with highs of 44 degrees, and there is a 30% chance of snow after 12 p.m.
Showers will be widespread across the mountains, and some of those could move off into Denver Wednesday evening, affecting the evening commute.
Widespread impacts in Denver are unlikely, though, and less than an inch of accumulation is expected.
Thursday has a slight chance of snow and temperatures in the 30s, then Friday and Saturday will be sunny and in the 40s.
