Denver weather: Warm, blue skies through the weekend — with highs in the 80s next week

A few clouds may float across warm blue skies Friday with a light breeze and high temperatures above 60 degrees through Easter Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind probably will not blow at speeds exceeding 10 miles per hour, and the high temperature Friday in metro Denver will be 65 degrees, weather service forecasters said.

A shift toward warmer weather with high temperatures reaching 68 degrees on Sunday is expected to continue, bringing temperatures exceeding 80 degrees by Tuesday and Wednesday under sunny blue skies with few if any clouds, forecasters said.

Colorado residents may see rain showers here and there Saturday afternoon, most likely in the mountains. But overall the weather is expected to remain dry.

On Colorado’s eastern plains, the warmer temps mean lower humidity, creating conditions favorable for fire, depending on wind, soil moisture and possible sources of ignition. The weather service on Friday issued a red flag fire danger warning covering the plains.
