Denver residents face a mostly sunny first full day of spring, breezy with blue skies, while snow comes and goes in Colorado’s western mountains.

The high temperatures around metro Denver will reach 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The wind, out of the southwest, will blow at speeds around 10 miles per hour with gusts at up to 18 mph.

Night lows will decrease to near freezing before possible rain and light snow Wednesday morning if storms spread down from the mountains through foothills, and the high temperature in metro Denver Wednesday will hover around 56 degrees, weather service forecasters said. Little or no snow is expected to stick, according to the weather service.

On Thursday, forecasters anticipate mostly sunny skies and more wind with a high of 54 degrees in metro Denver.

Snowstorms are expected to roll across the mountains Tuesday, intensifying at night, while Colorado’s high plains remain mostly dry. The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for the mountains on Wednesday.
