Spring is arriving and metro Denver residents face partly cloudy skies and light breeze Monday with steadily increasing temperatures in the 50s while snow still falls in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperature on Monday in Denver is expected to reach 57 degrees, and the high will hit 60 degrees on Tuesday with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said. The high temperature should stay around 57 degrees Wednesday, forecasters said, with a chance of rain Wednesday morning.
Night temperatures are expected to decrease to just below freezing.
Meanwhile, for Colorado’s northwestern mountains, the weather service has issued a winter weather advisory effective through Tuesday as waves of storms roll across the state. Up to 10 inches of snow is likely, along with winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour, leading to poor visibility and slick roads, forecasters said.
On Tuesday, more snow is expected in the mountains.
The Colorado Department of Transportation has issued a travel alert, warning of hazardous driving conditions in mountain areas hit by snow and referring drivers to cotrip.org for details.
