Denver weather: Two chances for snow in the metro area later this week

Denver has two chances for snow later this week as storms move through the state.

The first chance comes Wednesday evening after a few days of highs in the 50s melt off last week’s remaining snow.

The high on Wednesday is 55 degrees, so any precipitation will likely begin as rain, and then snow could mix with the rain by late evening.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder don’t expect any accumulation from that round of snow in Denver; Rabbit Ears Pass will get the brunt of the snow with up to 14 inches possible.

The next system moves in Friday evening, dropping high temperatures Saturday to 35 degrees. The snow will likely move in Saturday morning, possibly bringing a couple inches of accumulation to the Interstate 25 corridor.
