Denver will have a calm but cool day Thursday after a snowstorm dropped three to 11 inches of snow across the Denver metro area.
The largest snowfall totals were reported in the foothills west of Denver, as Genesee received 11.8 inches and Conifer received 10 inches, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Boulder received over 10 inches of snow in some places as well, and Denver International Airport received 3.6 inches of snow.
Some blowing snow is possible during the day, and the morning commute could be slick in places, but the sunshine will melt the snow on most main roads through the afternoon.
Even with the sun, though, temperatures will remain cool as high across the metro only reach 25 to 35 degrees. Denver’s high is 33 degrees.
A few flurries will linger in parts of the plains east of Interstate 25, but most activity will wane through the morning as the storm heads out of the state.
After a night in the teens with a high of 14 degrees, Denver will see a larger temperature increase during a sunny Friday as temperatures reach a high of 55 degrees.
