Snow or shine, the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade will go on.
Organizers confirmed the 62nd annual parade and its associated events will continue as planned despite an impending storm that’s expected to drop about a foot of snow on the Mile High City.
The Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade is slated to begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. near Coors Field in Lower Downtown.
“… the City of Denver has assured the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee that the streets will be plowed for the Parade,” states an announcement. “The Parade Committee will have the Coors Parking lot plowed to accommodate our participating floats and marchers.”
Organizers also still plan to host the changing of the signs ceremony on Thursday at noon. It’s currently slated to take place at the corner of 20th and Blake streets; however, if snow is falling heavily, the ceremony will be moved indoors to Jackson’s LODO sports bar (1520 20th St., Denver). The Grand Marshal Gala is still planned for Thursday evening at Cableland events center (4150 E Shangri La Dr., Denver).
