Severe thunderstorm warning posted for northern Weld County

7:32 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning is posted in northern Weld County through 7:45 p.m., north of Raymer, for a sparsely populated area where the National Weather Service warns people to brace for tennis ball-size hail and 60 mph winds.

5:05 p.m.: A special weather statement has been issued by the National Weather Service for areas north of Denver including Fort Collins, Wellington and Eaton, through 5:30 p.m. Winds up to 55 mph are expected.

3:54 p.m.: Severe thunderstorm warning posted north of Denver including Longmont, Erie and Firestone through 4:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. One-inch hail has fallen in widespread areas.
