Denver broke the record-high temperature for July 12 on Friday, reaching 102 degrees at Denver International Airport for the first time in three years, according to the National Weather Service.
The previous record high of 101 degrees was set in 1971, and Front Range residents can expect more record-setting temperatures through the weekend, according to NWS forecasters.
Denver last reached 102 degrees just over three years ago on July 8, 2021, according to NWS.
Forecasts now show temperatures are expected to rise to 101 degrees on Saturday, which would break the record high of 100 degrees set in 2003, and 102 degrees on Sunday, which would break the record high of 100 degrees set in 1878.
