Denver police arrested one person Monday afternoon after a report of shots fired led to a shelter-in-place in the Central Business District that lasted nearly three hours.
Officers are working to reopen roads and clear the scene after issuing a shelter-in-place for a one-block radius in the 1700 block of Curtis Street, according to a 1:22 p.m. X post by the Denver Police Department.
Police used “less-lethal equipment that may have sounded like gunfire” to detain the suspect, according to the department.
The 1600, 1700 and 1800 blocks of Curtis were closed, as were 16th, 17th and 18th streets from Arapahoe to Champa streets. The 16th Street Mall was not included in the closure, according to the department.
No injuries have been reported at this time, according to police.
