More than 900 flights delayed at Denver International Airport due to wind

More than 900 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport on Wednesday due to wind as thunderstorms rolled across northern Colorado.

There were 924 flights delayed at DIA as of 8:32 p.m., according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. Most of the delays were on Southwest and United airlines.

The airport was on a traffic management program and departing flights were delayed by up to 1 hour and 45 minutes because of wind, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The delays resolved by Wednesday night, according to the agency.

National Weather Service forecasters reported wind gusts of 47 mph at 2:45 p.m.
