A 16-year-old was charged Thursday with three counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting of three men near the 16th Street Mall this month, according to the Denver district attorney’s office.
Cyrus Haggard faces a total of 13 counts and has been charged as an adult, district attorney spokeswoman Maro Casparian said Friday. Haggard’s first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday morning.
The three victims were shot on the night of Aug. 13, Denver Police said. One man was in critical condition; the other two had wounds that were not considered life-threatening.
On Aug. 14, police said they had arrested a juvenile in connection with the shootings, although they declined to identify the alleged shooter.
Haggard also has been charged with multiple counts of assault with serious injury with a weapon, aggravated robbery, felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm and a handful of misdemeanor charges related to his age.
