CU football coach Deion Sanders to have emergency surgery for blood clot

Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders is set to have emergency surgery Friday to treat a blood clot, Pat McAfee reported on his podcast Thursday morning. McAfee said doctors discovered a blood clot in Sanders’ groin.

Coach Prime has had other health issues recently, including last week’s news that he may have to have his foot amputated to treat a circulation issue. Sanders has struggled with blood flow in his left foot before and had two toes amputated in 2021. He also has referenced not having feeling on the bottom of his foot.

Sanders, the only person who’s ever played in both the Super Bowl and the World Series, was hired in December to take over in Boulder after two seasons as the head coach at Jackson State.
