The University of Colorado Boulder is ranked the top university in Colorado, according to the 2023 edition of the Global 2000 list by the Center for World University Rankings.
CU Boulder placed 37th nationally and 66th globally, according to the list. In total, six universities from Colorado made the 2023 list.
CWUR publishes global university rankings measuring the quality of education and training for students as well as the prestige of the faculty members and the quality of their research.
“A variety of organizations publish rankings annually and their methodology varies. They are one of many factors prospective students can consider,” according to a CU Boulder statement. “We recommend that students look for the best fit to realize their unique potential. Here at CU Boulder, we are focused on improving retention, graduation rates, affordability and excellence in teaching and research every day.”
The University of Colorado Anschutz, Colorado State University, University of Colorado Denver, Colorado School of Mines and the University of Denver also made the list.
CWUR’s Global 2000 list measures a universities’ quality of education, employability, quality of faculty and research without relying on surveys and university data submissions, according to a press release.
According to the release, CWUR analyzes data points to rank universities according to those four factors: quality of education (25%), employability (25%), quality of faculty (10%), and research performance (40%). For this year’s edition, 62 million outcome-based data points were analyzed for the rankings.
