A 30-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder after his father was found dead with an apparent stab wound at a home in the Sherrelwood neighborhood of Adams County, law enforcement officials said Wednesday.
Connor Allen Paige was arrested in Elbert County on Saturday after Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies found his 64-year-old father dead at a home on Durango Street in unincorporated Adams County, Sgt. Adam Sherman said Wednesday.
The man’s identity has not yet been released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Deputies responded to the home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday and found Paige’s father dead in his bedroom with a possible stab wound, Sherman said.
Investigators tracked Paige to Elbert County, where he was arrested approximately three hours later.
He is charged with first-degree murder, third-degree motor vehicle theft and two counts of violating a protection order, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The murder and theft charges are felonies and the protection order violations are misdemeanors.
Paige is in custody at the Adams County Detention Facility on a $2 million cash bail and is set to appear in court July 19, according to court records and the district attorney’s office.
