One adult man has died, while another man is critically injured after a car crash Saturday morning at U.S. 85 and 56th Avenue in Commerce City.
The Commerce City Police Department announced the death around 2 p.m. in a tweet.
The accident was caused by a car that “appears to have run a red light,” according to a 9:30 a.m. tweet by the police department.
An SUV turned onto 56th Avenue with the right of way and hit the back of the vehicle that allegedly ran the red light, police report. The at-fault car landed on top of the guard rail.
The two men were transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to police.
Dispatchers for the Commerce City Police Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
