A wildfire in Rio Blanco County burning on private land has scorched about 1,100 acres.
The Deserado fire is burning near County Road 65 outside of Rangely, according to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office. Fire crews responded Wednesday after multiple lightning strikes hit the area.
County Road 65 is closed to traffic at the intersection with Colorado Highway 64.
No structures are threatened by the fire.
