Scattered storms moving across NE Colorado with rain, hail and lightning

 4:36 p.m.: A special weather statement is posted south of Denver for an area including Castle Rock, Parker and Franktown until 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Nickel-size hail and 40 mph winds are possible.

3:45 p.m.: Scattered storms are moving across northeastern Colorado bringing heavy rain, small hail, lightning and winds up to 35 mph in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.

1:45 p.m.: A flash flood warning is posted for a section of El Paso County including a stretch of Interstate 25 between Monument and Pikeview, and area with about 39,000 residents. The warning expires at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

1:45 p.m.: Special weather statement issued for Colorado Springs for possible nickel-size hail and winds up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The statement expires at 2 p.m.

1:16 p.m.: Special weather statement is issued for part of El Paso County including Monument and Black Forest where nickel-size hail and winds to 55 mph are expected. The weather statement expires at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

12:58 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning is posted for a part of El Paso County including the Black forest area through 1:15 p.m. Saturday where quarter-size hail is possible.

12:41 p.m.: A thunderstorm with heavy rain hit a portion of the Cameron Peak burn area where a flash flood warning is in place until 2:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The warning is posted in and around the Red Feather Lakes area as well.
