Colorado weather: Heat, scattered storms across the Front Range

Front Range residents may be dodging scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, though a chance of precipitation isn’t enough to cool off temperatures expected to reach the mid-90s.

Scattered moisture in the mountains will dwindle across the Eastern Plains, though some areas could see winds up to 50 mph and brief periods of heavy rain, according to National Weather Service forecasters. Park County is expected to see the most rainfall.

There’s a limited risk of flash flooding over wildfire burn scars, agency officials said Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to rise to 92 degrees in Denver and Boulder, 83 degrees in Evergreen, 88 degrees in Castle Rock and 95 degrees in Greeley and Fort Morgan.
