Since finishing the worst season in club history in October, Rapids fans have been counting days until they could move on. Wednesday made it real: Major League Soccer unveiled its complete 2024 regular-season schedule for the league’s 29th season.
Colorado will begin a 34-game schedule — 17 home games and 17 away — on the road Feb. 24 against the Portland Timbers at Providence Park. The following week, the Rapids will host Nashville SC for the home opener at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on March 2.
Season highlights include a trip to face Lionel Messi and Inter Miami for the first time April 6. IMFC joined MLS ahead of the 2020 season, while Messi joined the club last year.
Colorado will travel to last season’s Supporters Shield winner, FC Cincinnati, on April 27. It is part of the longest road stretch of the season, with four of five games on the road between April 6 and May 5. The Rapids will host their annual 4thFest on July 4 against Sporting Kansas City to kick off a three-game home stand that conclude against new head coach Chris Armas’ former team, New York Red Bulls, on July 13.
There’s always Western Conference rivalries to look forward to, and 2024 will be no different. The Burgundy Boys will travel to Real Salt Lake on two occasions and will host their Rocky Mountain Cup rivals July 20. Colorado will host LA Galaxy on Oct. 2, with its home finale against Seattle Sounders on Oct. 5
For the first time since 2022, the Rapids will have multiple day games. They will kick off at 2 p.m. for road games against Seattle on March 16 and New York City FC on May 5, along with a home game against LAFC on March 30.
There will be a midseason break to fit in Leagues Cup against Liga MX (Mexico) opposition, which MLS confirmed will run July 26-Aug. 25. After league play picks back up, Colorado will travel for Decision Day to Austin FC on Oct. 19.
With MLS in the second year of its broadcast deal with Apple, fans will be able to tune in and watch every game on Apple TV with MLS Season Pass, while Altitude Sports Radio will once again be the Rapids’ radio broadcast home. The full schedule, including kickoff times, can be found on the Rapids’ website.
