Colorado voters will begin receiving ballots this week for the state’s primary election on June 25.

County clerks began mailing out ballots Monday. Registered unaffiliated voters and those affiliated with parties with primary elections should receive mailed ballots automatically.

Unaffiliated voters will receive a ballot for both Democratic and Republican primaries, but can only vote one of those ballots to have their vote count. Voters affiliated with a party will only receive their party’s ballot.

Monday is the last day for voters affiliated with a party to change their registration to vote in another party’s primary.

Ballots are also going out to all voters in the 4th Congressional District for the special election to replace U.S. Rep. Ken Buck, who stepped down in March. That district largely covers the Eastern Plains and Douglas County. That election is also June 25.

Voters who wish to mail in their ballots should do so on or before June 17 to be sure they arrive in time to be counted. Beginning June 18, voters should use a drop box or go to a voting center. In-person voting will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on June 25.

Coloradans can register to vote and cast a ballot for the primary through June 25. June 17 is the last day to register to vote or for a voter to update their registration and receive a ballot in the mail. Voters can register online and find in-person voting centers at GoVoteColorado.gov.
