Class 5A

1. Cherry Creek (4-0) won at Arvada West, 42-0: Sophomore QB Brady Vodicka threw three touchdown passes to three different receivers in a 35-0 first half, and the Bruins defense submitted its first shutout of the season while forcing four turnovers. Next week: at No. 6 Regis Jesuit, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22.

2. Pine Creek (4-0) won vs. Denver East, 23-0: The Eagles defense shut out an Angels offense that entered Friday night averaging 34 points per game as Pine Creek moved to 4-0 for the second time in three seasons. Next week: at Mullen, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

3. Columbine (4-0) won at No. 5 Arapahoe, 31-29: Julian Ruiz drilled a 38-yard field goal with just two seconds left to lift the Rebels to a dramatic win in a top-five showdown that lived up to its billing. QB Reeve Holliday threw three touchdown passes, two going to James Basinger, then found Basinger one more time on fourth-and-long with 10 seconds to go to set up Ruiz’s game-winning field goal. Next week: vs. Fort Collins, 6 p.m. Sept. 21.

4. Ralston Valley (3-1) won vs. No. 6 Regis Jesuit, 28-21: Brady Weldon ran in two touchdowns and quarterback Logan Madden had one TD passing and another running, the last putting the Mustangs ahead for good in the fourth quarter of a wild back-and-forth affair. Next week: vs. No. 7 Valor Christian, 7 p.m. Sept. 21.

5. Arapahoe (3-1) lost vs. No. 3 Columbine, 31-29: Charlie Eckhardt returned a kickoff 99 yards for a TD, QB Michael Moynihan threw a pair of touchdown passes and snuck one in with two minutes to go, then connected with Andrew Smart on a two-point conversion to give Arapahoe its first lead of the night. But a two-minute drive and field goal sunk the Warriors in heartbreaker. Next week: at Rock Canyon, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

6. Regis Jesuit (2-2) lost at No. 4 Ralston Valley, 28-21: Peyton Lindell had one touchdown passing and another rushing, but the Raiders’ last-ditch drive in the fourth quarter came up short in their second straight loss to a top-10 opponent. Next week: vs. No. 1 Cherry Creek, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22.

7. Valor Christian (1-3) lost at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Ga.), 52-31: The Eagles went down to Georgia and ran into an offensive buzzsaw. Asher Weiner’s second touchdown hookup with Cash Spence drew Valor to within a score at 38-31 with 7:03 to go, but the Eagles didn’t see the end zone again. Next week: at No. 4 Ralston Valley, 7 p.m. Sept. 21.

8. Grandview (3-1) won vs. Fruita Monument, 42-21: QB Liam Szarka threw four touchdown passes and ran for another while compiling 270 total yards in a Wolves rout. Nate Denton hauled in four passes for 88 yards and two scores. Next week: at Pomona, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

9. Castle View (4-0) won at Douglas County, 29-7: The Sabercats defense held an opponent under double-digit scoring for the fourth straight week to start the season 4-0 for the first time since 2019. The win broke a two-game losing streak for Castle View in the Battle of the Rock. Next week: vs. Cherokee Trail, 6 p.m. Sept. 21.

10. Fountain-Fort Carson (4-0) won at Pomona, 28-18: The Trojans rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit, scoring all four of their touchdowns in the final two quarters. Mathias Price’s long touchdown run and subsequent two-point conversion put FFC ahead for good in the fourth quarter, and Terence Morris added his second TD of the game to give FFC cushion late. Next week: vs. Doherty, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

Class 4A

1. Palmer Ridge (4-0) won at Smoky Hill, 49-0: The Bears defense posted its first shutout of the season and Palmer Ridge topped 40 points for the third consecutive game. Next week: at Ponderosa, 7 p.m. Sept. 21.

2. Loveland (3-1) lost at 3A No. 9 Thompson Valley, 14-0: The Red Wolves were shut out for the first time in seven years as Thompson Valley took down its cross-town rivals. Riley Suarez threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the Eagles’ first win over Loveland since 2005. Next week: at Greeley Central, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21.

3. Erie (3-1) won vs. No. 4 Broomfield, 30-7: Blake Barnett ran in three touchdowns and threw for another as the Tigers got a measure of revenge for last year’s 4A semifinal loss to Broomfield. Next week: at No. 9 Windsor, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

4. Broomfield (2-2) lost at No. 3 Erie, 30-7: CT Worley put the Eagles ahead with a rushing touchdown in the second quarter, but Erie followed with 30 unanswered points to run away with the win. Next week: vs. Brighton, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

5. Montrose (2-2) won at Palisade, 42-0: The Red Hawks put 28 on the board by halftime and a pair of Blake Griffin TDs in the third quarter triggered the running clock in a dominating win. Next week: vs. 3A No. 1 Lutheran, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

6. Heritage (2-2) won at Overland, 57-15: The Eagles topped 50 points for the second consecutive week, with senior Kurt Rossner throwing for 110 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 69 yards and two more scores in a rout. Next week: at Rampart, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

7. Pueblo West (3-1) Bye: The benefits of a Week Zero game pay off with an extra seven days to recuperate after last week’s loss to 5A Fountain-Fort Carson. Next week: vs. Far Northeast, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

8. Dakota Ridge (3-1) won vs. Rampart, 50-21: Blake Palladino had one score apiece rushing and passing, Brady Palladino added a 5-yard TD and Jack Stewart threw a scoring pass to Cole Ehlinger as the Eagles rolled. Next week: vs. Chatfield, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

9. Windsor (3-1) lost at Fossil Ridge, 35-30: The Wizards’ run of three consecutive wins by three points or less came to a close after SaberCats running back Colton Pawlak exploded for 197 yards and four TDs on 17 carries. Next week: vs. No. 3 Erie, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

10. Golden (3-1) won at Denver South, 24-6. Golden won its third straight behind a solid defensive effort that saw the Demons limit South to its lowest scoring output since getting shut out by Standley Lake in October 2017. Next week: vs. Palisade, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

Class 3A

1. Lutheran (4-0) won vs. Pueblo East, 26-21. Next week: at 4A No. 5 Montrose, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.

2. Green Mountain (4-0) won vs. Pueblo South, 50-0. Next week: Bye.

3. Holy Family (3-0) won at Mountain View, 46-28. Next week: at No. 4 Roosevelt, 7 p.m. Sept. 22.
