Class 5A

1. Cherry Creek (3-1) won vs. Arvada West, 62-21. The Bruins broke things open with three defensive touchdowns in the second quarter (Chase Brackney fumble recovery in the end zone and a pair of Logan Brantley pick-6s) and got two rushing TDs apiece from Jordan Herron and Carlson Tann to take a 55-14 lead into halftime. Next week: vs. No. 2 Regis Jesuit, 7 p.m. Sept. 22

2. Regis Jesuit (2-2) lost vs. No. 4 Ralston Valley, 29-28. Quarterback Exander Carroll ran in a pair of touchdowns and connected with D’andre Barnes on another to help give the Raiders a 28-10 lead with less than 12 minutes to play. But the Mustangs responded with 19 unanswered points to pull off a stunning comeback. Next week: at No. 1 Cherry Creek, 7 p.m. Sept. 22

3. Columbine (4-0) won vs. Arapahoe, 28-6. Quarterback Brayden Harvey threw for a touchdown and ran for another and James Cillesson scored TDs running and receiving in the Rebels’ fourth consecutive double-digit win to begin the season. Next week: at Fort Collins, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

4. Ralston Valley (3-1) won at No. 2 Regis Jesuit, 29-28. Down 28-10 early in the fourth quarter, the Mustangs scored three unanswered touchdowns to knock off the No. 2 team in the CHSAANow rankings for the second week in a row. Josh Rillos set up the game-winning TD with a long over-the-shoulder catch from Logan Madden to the Regis 1, and the Mustangs punched it in from there. Next week: at No. 5 Valor Christian, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

5. Valor Christian (2-2) lost vs. Liberty (Peoria, Ariz.), 50-7. The Eagles offense could not find room to run against Liberty, which got three straight rushing touchdowns from Zach Wallace to begin the game. Valor gave up 50-plus points for the first time in 14 years. Next week: vs. No. 4 Ralston Valley, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

6. Grandview (3-1) won at 4A No. 4 Fruita Monument, 38-37 (OT). In a back-and-forth affair that included seven lead changes and two ties, Grandview’s Donovan Vernon scored his second touchdown of the night in overtime and quarterback Liam Szarka ran in the subsequent two-point conversion to give the Wolves a walk-off win on the Western Slope. Next week: vs. Pomona, 7 p.m. Sept. 22

7. Legend (3-1) lost at 4A No. 1 Ponderosa, 21-14. The Titans’ three-game win streak against their cross-town rivals came to an end after the Mustangs jumped ahead 14-0 in the first quarter with the aid of a turnover and held them at arm’s length the rest of the way. Next week: vs. Legacy, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

8. ThunderRidge (4-0) won vs. Chatfield, 28-13. The Grizzlies scored all 28 of their points in the second half to rally from a 7-0 halftime deficit and move to 4-0 for the first time since 2018. Next week: at Chaparral, 6 p.m. Sept. 22

9. Pine Creek (3-1) won at Denver East, 66-14. Mason Miller ran for three touchdowns, Luke Zimmerman tacked on two more, and QB Cameron Cooper and Jake Graver hooked up for a pair of TDs in a commanding win for the Eagles. Next week: vs. Mullen, 6 p.m. Sept. 22

10. Mountain Vista (3-1) lost at Legacy, 41-28. Lightning quarterback Kullen Lerma threw for 274 yards and three touchdown on 19-of-25 passing, and ran for another 106 yards on 17 carries in the upset win. Kylan Studebaker also picked off a pair of passes for Legacy, which has won two straight after starting the season 0-2. Next week: at University (Orlando, Fla.), 7 p.m. Sept. 22

Class 4A

1. Ponderosa (4-0) won vs. Legend, 21-14. Quarterback Zach Stryker threw for a pair of touchdowns and punched in another on the ground to give the Mustangs a 21-7 lead going into halftime. The Ponderosa defense did enough to make it hold up in the rivalry win. Next week: at No. 2 Palmer Ridge, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

2. Palmer Ridge (4-0) won vs. Smoky Hill, 44-16. The Bears held up their end of the bargain Friday night, knocking off the 5A Buffaloes to set up a 1-2 showdown in 4A next week in Monument. Next week: vs. No. 1 Ponderosa, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

3. Broomfield (4-0) won vs. No. 10 Erie, 35-14. Quarterback Cole LaCrue found the end zone four times, the last one finishing off a clock-draining drive in the fourth quarter, as the Eagles avenged a 49-21 loss to the Tigers from last season. Next week: at Brighton, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

4. Fruita Monument (3-1) lost vs. 5A No. 6 Grandview, 38-37 (OT). Nick Huskey’s 27-yard field goal sent the game to overtime, and Corben Rowell scored on a four-yard run in the opening possession of the extra frame to give the Wildcats a 37-30 lead. But the defense couldn’t keep the Wolves out of the end zone on the other end, and Liam Szarka’s two-point conversion sealed the deal. Next week: vs. Bear Creek, 4 p.m. Sept. 22

5. Loveland (3-1) won vs. Thompson Valley, 53-7. In the three games since losing to Fossil Ridge 36-35, the Red Wolves have outscored opponents 150-15 in a string of dominating performances. On Friday, that included three rushing TDs from Garrett Harstad. Next week: vs. Greeley Central, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

6. Denver South (3-1) lost at Golden, 43-42. The Ravens took their first lead of the game with a minute left on QB Joseph Capra’s two-yard run. But the Demons marched the other way and handed South its first loss of the season after Jazel Riley IV found Trey Abrams for a 20-yard TD pass with 8.1 seconds to go, and Riley ran in the subsequent two-point conversion. Cole Quercioli added three TDs for the Demons, who kept South from its second 4-0 start in three seasons. Next week: at Cheyenne Mountain, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

7. Pueblo West (3-1) bye. Next week: at Far Northeast, 6 p.m. Sept. 23

8. Montrose (2-2) won vs. Palisade, 40-14. A week after winning a 49-40 shootout over Erie, the Red Hawks rode a 33-point second quarter to a rout. Next week: at 3A No. 2 Lutheran, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

9. Dakota Ridge (2-2) won at Rampart, 40-0. The Eagles posted their first shutout in 17 games as they won for the second week in a row following an 0-2 start to the season. Next week: at Chatfield, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

10. Erie (1-3) lost at No. 3 Broomfield, 35-14. The Tigers defense surrendered 30-plus points for the fourth straight week as they had no answer for Cole LaCrue and the Eagles. Next week: vs. Windsor, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

Class 3A

1. Roosevelt (4-0) won at Highlands Ranch, 25-22. Next week: at No. 9 Holy Family, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

2. Lutheran (3-1) won at No. 7 Pueblo East, 56-27. Next week: vs. 4A No. 8 Montrose, 7 p.m. Sept. 23

3. Durango (3-1) won at Grand Junction Central, 49-14. Next week: vs. No. 10 Mead, 7 p.m. Sept. 23
