Due to technical issues and statewide outages Tuesday, Colorado’s DMV offices can’t do anything but provide written tests.

The issue is affecting all of Colorado’s driver’s license offices, preventing DMV officials from issuing anything but written tests and forcing Coloradoans to reschedule other appointments, according to a DMV news release.

If customers who take the written test return to the DMV within 180 days, they can complete the driver’s license issuance process without retaking the test, DMV officials stated in the release.

Anyone not taking a written test will need to reschedule their appointment, but there’s currently no timeline for when in-office services will be restored, DMV officials said.

The department is also experiencing technical difficulties with the state’s credit card processing system, according to Tuesday’s release. This outage is preventing customers across the state from making payments using credit cards.

Coloradans needing DMV services should use myDMV.Colorado.gov, the release stated.

Residents needing to renew their registration in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Fremont, Jefferson, La Plata, Larimer, Mesa, Pueblo, Summit, Teller and Weld counties can also use DMV Express Kiosks, DMV officials said.
