No. 17 Legacy beat No. 16 Eaglecrest, 28-14: Omari Bursey scored one touchdown running, another on a pass from Devan Kirchhevel and a third on a fumble return to lead the Lightning (7-4) into the Round of 16 for the second straight season. The Raptors (7-4) put pressure on Legacy with two straight TDs in the third quarter, the last on a pass from Joe Steiner to Cam Chapa to pull within 21-14. But Bursey answered with a 6-yard run to put the game away. Next week: at No. 1 Cherry Creek (10-0), 7 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 9 Castle View beat No. 24 Fossil Ridge, 35-16: Castle View (8-3) took control with a pair of takeaways late in the second quarter to earn its first playoff win since 2018. Derek Gordon cashed in the first — an interception — by finding Jackson Blanchard for a TD pass a few snaps later. Darrell Ishman then returned an interception for a touchdown on Fossil Ridge’s next possession to give Castle View a 19-0 lead going into halftime that was never challenged. Fossil Ridge’s (5-6) lone TDs came late in the fourth quarter. Next week: at No. 8 Mountain Vista (8-2), 6 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 13 Denver East beat No. 20 Mullen, 23-7: Will Beauregard kicked two field goals, Sean Campbell ran in a 25-yard touchdown and the Denver East (9-2) defense scored on a fumble return (Elias Goss) and safety (DJ Crowe) to eliminate Mullen. Koa Dietrich found Jordan Leslie for an 8-yard TD pass to give the Mustangs (6-5) a 7-3 lead in the first half, but the Angels defense took over after that. No. 12 Rock Canyon beat No. 21 Arvada West, 20-14: Gavin Neira hooked up with Sam Cuthbert for a 16-yard TD pass, Jack Anderson booted a pair of second-half field goals, and the Jaguars (8-3) defense came up with a critical fumble recovery in their end zone to hold off A-West (5-6). The latter was one of three takeaways for the Rock Canyon defense. Next week: at No. 5 Ralston Valley (8-2), 7 p.m. Nov. 10.
No. 18 Fountain-Fort Carson beat No. 15 Fairview, 42-14: Fairview (9-2) had no answer for the Trojans run game as Mathias Price ran for over 300 yards and six touchdowns to lead FFC (8-3) to the 5A Round of 16 for the second year in a row. Next week: at No. 2 Columbine (10-0), 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 10 Legend beat No. 23 Brighton, 51-14: Junior running back Jaden Lawrence found the end zone three times as the Titans (8-3) put 44 points on the board in the first half en route to notching a playoff win for the fifth straight season. Blake George found Kevin Day for a scoring pass for the Bulldogs (5-6), but it wasn’t near enough to move on. Next week: at No. 7 Valor Christian (6-4), TBA
No. 14 Chatfield beat No. 19 Cherokee Trail, 42-7: Given another shot at Cherokee Trail (5-6) after having to forfeit their first meeting, the Chargers (6-5) left no doubt to advance to the Round of 16. Winner next week: at No. 3 Arapahoe (8-2), 7 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 11 Grandview beat No. 22 Douglas County, 28-21: Liam Szarka hooked up with Xay Neto for a pair of TD passes and ran in another as part of a 28-0 first half for Grandview (7-4), then the Wolves held on for dear life as Douglas County (4-7) scored three TDs in the second half to draw within a score. Given the ball down 28-21 with less than three minutes to go, DC saw its last-ditch drive stall-out on an incomplete pass on fourth-and-10. Next week: at No. 6 Regis Jesuit (6-4), TBA

No. 17 Denver South beat No. 16 Vista Ridge, 27-26: Chevelle Early ran in a 12-yard touchdown with 7:16 left in the fourth quarter to give the Ravens (7-4) a 27-20 lead, and the South defense stuffed a two-point conversion attempt after that to make it hold up in a dramatic victory. Orlando Guevara scored a pair of TDs during a 20-0 start for South. But then Vista Ridge’s Kobe Dooley returned a kickoff for a TD just before halftime, and QB Zayden Stevens threw three TD passes in the second half to bring the Wolves (6-5) all the way back. In the end, however, South’s two-point stop was the difference. Next week: at No. 1 Palmer Ridge (10-0), 7 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 9 Golden beat No. 24 Monarch, 48-7: Jack Dixon scored one touchdown rushing and another on a pass from Kalin Hufford as one of five Demons (9-2) to find the end zone on offense. Henry Guanella’s touchdown pass to Tyler Tharp broke a 35-0 run to start the game for Golden, but Monarch (5-6) saw its season end in the first round for the second straight year. No. 13 Fruita Monument beat No. 20 Falcon, 50-12. Senior Amari Wilson ran in three touchdowns and found Wyatt Sharpe for another, Sharpe tacked on a TD run of his own and the Wildcats (8-3) closed out the game with 29 unanswered points. Gabriel McFarland and Carter Thorp both ran in TDs for Falcon (4-7) in the first half, but that was all the scoring the Falcons could muster. Next week: at No. 4 Broomfield (8-2), TBA
No. 12 Loveland beat No. 21 Bear Creek, 41-21: Trey Olsen scored on 1- and 38-yard runs in the third quarter to break open a game that was tied at 14 at halftime, and Ryder Eastin’s second scoring run of the day put things away in the fourth quarter for Loveland (8-3). Bear Creek (4-7) lost in the first round of the 4A playoffs for the second straight year. Next week: at No. 5 Mesa Ridge (7-3), 7 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 15 Rampart beat No. 18 Grand Junction Central, 48-6: Rampart (7-4) broke a six-year drought without a playoff victory, holding Grand Junction Central (5-6) to a single touchdown in the first quarter and running away from there. Next week: at No. 2 Erie (9-1), TBA
No. 10 Thomas Jefferson beat No. 23 Standley Lake, 22-14: The Spartans (10-1) reached double-digit wins for the first time since 2007 after beating the Gators (4-7) for the second time this season. Next week: at No. 7 Dakota Ridge (7-3), 4 p.m. Nov. 10
No. 14 Pueblo West beat No. 19 Longmont, 55-42: The Cyclones (7-4) scored two touchdowns in all four quarters to outlast a Trojans (5-6) offense that kept putting the pressure on. Kolby Holmes hooked up with Joey Foot for three TDs to bring Longmont within a score three different times in the second half, but the Pueblo West attack always had an answer. Next week: at No. 3 Montrose (8-2), 1 p.m. Nov. 11
No. 11 Windsor beat No. 22 Centaurus, 48-0: Samuel Cooper ran in three touchdowns, Mikey Munn added two more scores and the Wizards (9-2) advanced to the Round of 16 for the second straight season. Centaurus (8-3) saw its seven-game win streak snapped. Next week: at No. 6 Ponderosa (7-3), 6 p.m. Nov. 10
