An unoccupied semi-truck rolled across a Centennial parking lot and crashed into a car on Monday, leaking diesel fuel and prompting a nearby road closure.
The incident happened in a parking lot at 11755 E. Peakview Ave., according to a South Metro Fire Rescue 2:32 p.m. Tuesday tweet. East Caley Avenue is closed between South Lima and South Peoria streets while hazardous materials cleanup in ongoing. About 60 gallons of fuel ran down a storm drain and is contained.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is on scene and an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. No one was injured.
“The remaining fuel in the truck saddle tanks has been offloaded and the incident is under control,” SMFR said in a 3:12 p.m. tweet. Area roads were expected to reopen a short time later.
