A multi-vehicle crash during the evening commute on C-470 near Morrison injured two people and traffic is backed up in the area.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes between West Alameda Avenue and Morrison Road, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
One person suffered critical injuries and another person serious injuries, according to West Metro Fire Rescue. Both were taken to a local hospital.
Six vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
The incident has shut down the eastbound lanes and traffic is backed up on the highway, CDOT said. Drivers are urged to avoid the area. There is no estimated time for reopening the stretch of highway.
