The Broncos improved the running backs room by drafting Notre Dame standout Audric Estime in the fifth round. But they didn’t stop there.
Following the conclusion of the NFL draft, Denver signed Memphis running back Blake Watson as an undrafted free agent. A source told The Denver Post that Watson’s deal includes a guaranteed salary of $250,000 and a $25,000 signing bonus.
Watson rushed for at least 1,000 yards in two of his five seasons at Memphis. In 2023, he was 28th in the nation in rushing yards (1,152) and tied for 15th in touchdowns (15). He also contributed to the passing game, as he had a career-best 480 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Watson recorded at least 100 rushing yards in five games. Against North Texas last October, he had 169 rushing yards and two touchdowns while catching five passes for 100 yards.
Here’s a list of other undrafted free agents that signed with Denver:
• TE Thomas Yassmin, Utah
• Safety Omar Brown, Nebraska
• LB Alec Mock, Air Force
• DT Jordan Miller, SMU
• DL Jaylon Allen, Memphis
• WR Lincoln Victor, Washington State
• OT Frank Crum, Wyoming
