Two teenagers suspected of stealing scooters and then fatally shooting the man who chased after them were arrested Friday, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Ahmed Mohamed, 18, of Aurora was arrested Friday in a stolen car when investigators connected him to a motor vehicle theft and shooting that killed Miguel Angel Saucedo Araujo, 49, in the Del Mar Park neighborhood on Aug. 23.
Mohamed was 17 at the time of the shooting and was charged as an adult with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and illegal discharge of a firearm.
Police also arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the shooting, who is facing the same charges in Arapahoe Juvenile Court, according to Aurora police. His name was not released because he is a minor.
Aurora police arrested a 16-year-old boy in September on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the case.
The shooting occurred when the suspects allegedly stole scooters from outside of a home in the 900 block of Paris Street in the early hours of Aug. 23.
Araujo and his son confronted the suspects and chased after them as they fled on the stolen scooters, according to previous reports. The suspects opened fire on Araujo and his son during the pursuit.
After Araujo and his son returned home, a vehicle drove by the front of their house and fired several rounds into the building, fatally wounding the man, according to previous reports.
