A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide and first-degree assault after an incident that shut down Smoky Hill Road Saturday morning in Aurora.
During the investigation that shut down Smoky Hill Road for an hour Saturday, police officers arrested a 29-year-old man for attempted homicide and aggravated assault, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office stated on X.
Paramedics transported a 53-year-old woman to a local hospital in serious condition, the sheriff’s office stated. No information was available on the relationship between the two.
Smoky Hill Road was closed between South Biscay Circle and South Danube Street around 11 a.m., according to the post from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office on X. The road reopened just before noon.
Sheriff’s office deputies, Aurora police officers and crews from South Metro Fire Rescue were all on scene, according to the post.
