A 14-year-old girl was killed and two other teenage girls were injured during a shooting at a party in Aurora Saturday night, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. at a party in a park in the 1400 block of South Uravan Street, according to a Sunday X post by the department. Two 14-year-old girls and one 15-year-old girl, all from Aurora, were taken to hospitals, according to a Sunday morning update from the department.
One of the 14-year-old girls was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital, according to police. She was identified on Monday as Kamiaya Keyera Cleveland by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. The two other girls are in unknown conditions.
Numerous minors were present at the party when a fight broke out and someone shot a gun, according to police.Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
