Four units in an Aurora multi-family residence were heavily damaged after a fire broke out Thursday night.

When fire crews arrived, they found a strong fire in the back of the building, extending into the attic space, the release stated. Fire crews hooked up large hose lines to nearby fire hydrants for water and searched the area for missing people and pets.
“Their firefighting efforts were swift and efficient, bringing the fire under control and preventing further damage to the structure and neighboring structures,” fire officials said in the release.
Four units of the multi-family home were damaged in the fire, and one person was injured, officials said. The injury was minor, but paramedics transported the individual to the hospital.
Fire crews got the fire under control just before 11 p.m., but crews remained on scene to extinguish hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
