Firefighters extinguished two separate brush fires that broke out Friday in the area of Interstate 70 and Peña Boulevard.
The fires were each held to about one acre and investigators remain at the scene working to determine a cause, Aurora Fire Rescue said. No buildings were threatened and no one was injured.
Denver and Aurora firefighters responded to the fires, described as slow-moving, according to a 2:06 p.m. Aurora Fire Rescue tweet.
Aurora Fire Rescue officials announced at 2:35 p.m. that the fires, one on the east side of the intersection and the other on the west side, were contained.
