Commerce City police are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a teenage girl Wednesday near Second Creek Elementary School.
The girl was walking near the school at 9950 Laredo Drive when the man attempted to kidnap her between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., according to the Commerce City Police Department.
He followed her in a car for three blocks to 97th Avenue, where she contacted her parents, who called 911.
The man is described as Hispanic and bald with a longer, dark-colored beard and a tattoo of a snake on his left outer forearm, according to Commerce City police.
He was wearing a white t-shirt and black pants at the time and driving a gray or silver car with tinted windows and damage to the front driver’s side fender near the headlight. The car also had possible damage to the taillight, according to the department.
“We want to find this individual before he attempts to do something like this again,” Commerce City police wrote in a Facebook post.
Anyone with information can contact the department’s investigative tip line at 303-289-3626.
