Denver Police arrested a teen Thursday following the shooting death of another teen in April.
Alonzo Chavez, 18, is being held while under investigation for first-degree murder, according to Denver Police. The Denver District Attorney’s Office will make the final determination on charges, according to the news release.
Police identified Chavez as a suspect in the death of Richard “Richie” Lovato. Lovato, 18, was found shot near the 1400 block of Meade Street, in the West Colfax area, on April 17. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Denver police worked with the Glendale Police Department to find and arrest Chavez, whose last known address was in Englewood.
The arrest affidavit for Chavez is currently sealed.
