A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy whose body was found at a Denver cemetery last week, Denver officials announced Friday.
The suspect, an unidentified juvenile male, is being held on investigation of first-degree murder for the death of Elias Garcia Tinajero, but the final determination of charges will be made by the Denver District Attorney’s Office, according to a Friday news release from the Denver Police Department.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 24, Denver police officers responded to the 400 block of South Quebec Street at Fairmount Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory — for a death investigation.
When officers arrived, they found Tinajero’s body with multiple gunshot wounds, the release stated.
Tinajero’s death was ruled a homicide by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner Wednesday.
