Airplane makes emergency landing on Interstate 76 in Morgan County

A small passenger airplane made an emergency landing Saturday afternoon on Interstate 76, according to State Patrol.

At 2:25 p.m., the airplane was flying over northeastern Colorado when it experienced a malfunction and made an emergency landing on westbound I-76, the State Patrol said in a statement Saturday on social media.

Troopers said the plane landed about 9 miles east of Brush on the interstate.

The emergency landing caused some traffic delays, but no one was injured in the plane or on the interstate, state troopers said.

Crews towed the airplane 9 miles west to I-76’s exit 92 interchange near Brush, where it was loaded onto a trailer and hauled to the Fort Morgan airport, the State Patrol said. Fort Morgan is about 10 miles west of Brush.
