AdventHealth Porter hospital in Denver closes after losing heat, hot water

AdventHealth Porter hospital in Denver is closed to new patients after the facility lost heat and hot water following a boiler system failure on Monday.

The hospital at 2525 S. Downing St., is closed to new patients, system officials announced in a news release. All surgeries scheduled through Wednesday will be rescheduled and the emergency department is closed.

The medical office buildings at 850 and 950 E. Harvard Ave., and the Porter Medical Plaza at 2535 S. Downing St., were not affected by the boiler outage and are still open.

An emergency boiler is en route to the hospital and will be installed as soon as possible, according to a news release from AdventHealth.

The hospital is also working to transport patients to other facilities and will send staff to other facilities to support patients as needed, according to the company.
